If you know Chinese rock history well, you'll know there are several brilliant female musicians during the 90's in Beijing, and Zhang Qian Qian is a name that definitely should not be missed. She plays Folk and Mainstream music at the same time and also a romantic peot. This night, she will come to our place and bring you pure sound of folk music, and of course, of her own.

For a long time, Sound Fragment was considered to be one of the best bands in Mainland China. They almost paticipated every major music festival in China for recent years. However, they are not copycats - in their bio page, they called their genre as "Sound Fragment rock". Long time no see my friends!

Let's check out what'll happen this week @ yyt livehouse

Wed, AUG 26th, will be a new issue of New Faces Underground. This time we've invited "Picasso Smiling". Lets check out what'll happen tonight. Free entry.

Thu, AUG 27th, a local band called "Ru Shi Wo Wen" will bring you a show which is called "Budda told me, 10 years". Actually this title is just describing a long and hard experience of the frontman and guitar of this band. He used to spend almost 8 hours a day to practice his guitar for many years and someone even compared him to Eric Clapton. So even it's a Thursday night it still worth spending 2 hours to come here to see how Liu Haishen the frontman blend Blues, Funk and Metal together. Also you'll see another nice band called "KE" once played in our New Faces Underground. Ticket 40 RMB, will start at 9 PM.

FRI, AUG 28th, 5 local bands will come to Yu Yin Tang to have a show dedicated to Michael Jackson. They are "Tian Pin Dian", "Joker", "Sonnet", "Sunye"(from Miniless) and "Fusion". They'll show their respect to MJ this night and spend the first few hours with you in MJ's birthday. Also you'll be able to have a special t-shirt about our memories of MJ. Dont miss it. SAT, AUG 29th, another set of local band will bring you a british-pop night. They are "YU GUO", "Rank", "8MG", "ANN", "Fading Cross". This is also the best troops of bands playing Brit-pop in Shanghai. Ticket 40 rmb, will start at 9pm.

SUN, AUG 30th, local band Joker and The Buzz will bring you a Blues Night which is also YYT's serial activities.

PS: As our MOVIE NIGHT had already held 4 activities in the last Tuesdays, next week we'll change it to WED as the famous Chinese post-hardcore band "Da Hua Mei" and "GoldenCAGE" will tour here in the next TUE.

The new YuYinTang features expanded equipment to cater to the dynamic music scene it has supported for so long, as well as a 2nd floor bathroom, more floor space, and two HDTVs to broadcast the action.

Walls are adorned with photographs of previous events, letting regulars know that even with the updates, they still provide 20 RMB beers and 30 RMB cocktails. YuYinTang is the premier venue for live music.

Oh yeah, it IS rock, especially the toilets, hum. Thumbs up for having so much live music. I can't wait for summer to have a beer in the garden.
