Housed in a renovated historic villa, this pub is just across from Xujiahui Park and offers a variety of bottle and tap beers with happy hour specials. One of the most English-looking of the city's British boozers, it spreads out over four levels and has a large patio, plus indoor and outdoor screens for watching international matches that draw large crowds.

I passed by this place on saturday and saw a big display which said: Now 3 glasses of Chivas Regal for 100 Rmb ! :)

Good local British/Irish themed pub. Feels quite upmarket but prices are the same as any other expat bar. If you live in Xujiahui and fancy a few quiet drinks this is the place.

Great outdoor seating area. Excellent to watch sports on over the summer months

Park Tavern was mentioned in CW's Drinking Al Fresco story. Read up about this venue and more to make the most out of your summer.

Interesting experience xtrafire. I've had nothing but great experiences there. One time I was there the same manager really took care of me. I was with a friend and the three of us got into a discussion about port. My friend asked for a 50 kuai taste of their very rare port (poor grad student). Instead of pouring him a small glass, he poured an entire glass and said it was on him.
Another great experience: I recently had a problem with a food order at Park Tavern. Small something in the fries, it happens. The meal was comped without hesitation. I challenge you to find that type of service in Shanghai.

Better not go there again! The other ratings are ok and realistic but my friends and I will not go there again. Have been there last night drinking and eating for more than 5 hours with a bunch of friends. After the others have left, an unfriendly looking guy with full-beard came over to my girlfriend and me, asking us in an agressive way to leave for a hotel or to order something to drink. To make it clear for us he did say that several times... I mean, a joke is ok, but this guy was fucking serious and unfriendly and obviously didnt mean it as a joke! Asking another guy working there he told us that this is the manager of this place!!! Hey if this guy is not interested to keep his customers then what will he do next time? Sorry thats last time for us to go there!

Good beers on draft. Car Bombs 100RMB and Snakebites for 45; prices are OK. A good place to take a break from Shanghai

Issue 14: Where You Drink, Geoff Tink
"Shanghai sails on a sea of booze, so picking a few places is tough. With rugby season upon us, it's go time at the Park Tavern and with the tri-nations kicking off in the beer garden, summer will be gold. Then when my Shanghai Gaelic football mates spank the Shanghai Tigers AFL boys, I'm always up for a celebratory beer–or ten–at The Blarney Stone. If there's a full moon and my jeans are clean, I might give Velvet Lounge or Muse a crack. But when hitting the town gets you down, the best beers in the village are at JustBeer.cn. The guys on Taikang Lu deliver cases of amber straight to your door. Happy days."

Not sure if anyone else has had this pronblem - but the manager guy here is a bit over the top. He looks like he wants to punch someone all the time and is looking for the appropriate time to launch into a verbal attack on one of the patrons. There is no need to be too touchy all of the time. If you ask for a little more rum in your rum and coke because you can't taste any there is no need to go into some tirade. Either just say "sorry there is some" or give the punter a little more - I don't particualry want to be called a "fucking little prick" and told "don't come back" to then be approached 5 minutes later with "I'm sorry, I went over the top" - no shit... A pub is supposed to be a place to relax, not somewhere where you have to look over your shoulder the whole time in case you're going to get more shit.

I was first to write a review and give notice to CW about this pub... Now, m friends and I have become regulars... Today, we are gonna be overthere in late afternoon for a bachelor party... they offered us the best deal with no corkage fee... Unbelievable!! Anyway, go there and enjoy the nice atmosphere and very nice staff and management team...

CW would like to correct a comment in the recent Park Tavern review. Although they do have a barbecue / party spot in the third floor that groups are more than welcome to rent out, parties cannot bring their own food, the food is included in the price to rent out the space.

I dragged some friends out to check out this new bar and they keep asking me when we can go back. My picky roommate even wants to make it part of the rotation. Just a nice laid back place to make your own for the night. If the crowd gets to be too much, change floors. :-)

New real house Pub...Garden/terrace + 3 or 4 floors in a really nice big house with good choice of Beers on tap... and classic food items...
In front of Xujiahui Park, neighbour of Melrose pizza and nearl in front of Villa Rouge...
I was happy to discover this place that is a very good alternative of O'malleys...

This place is the best. Great location, great atmosphere, great people and good hearty pub food! Wish it was closer to my house as I would be there all the time. Park Tavern is the best place in Shanghai hands down for a pint with friends and good sports!
