If you're feeling a little worse for wear after scoffing down too many deep-fried dumplings, head here for a healthy antidote. As the name implies, you'll enjoy an array of potent shakes, leafy salads and fresh-grilled sandwiches. Revel in the Revel in the homemade hummus and you’ll instantly feel redeemed. They’ve also got a great kids menu for the munchkins. Delivery available.

This is my favorite Element Fresh location in Shanghai! The setting is really gorgeous and it's such a great location on Huaihai. The booths are spacious and comfortable and the candles (they light them in the evening) give the place a real upper-scale feel. The fresh vegetable wrap with tofu is delicious and super filling. I could only eat half of the wrap and I took the other half to go for later. It comes with a side of slaw that is very refreshing and the cabbage and other veggies are all very crisp. The tofu in the wrap is a little beefy tasting, so if you're one of those vegetarians that can't stand the taste of meat, this might not be the entree for you.

Their terrace is really great but you always have to wait a bit to grab a seat. Makes sense ! They blend the best smoothies in town, and their salads and sandwiches are great. Portions are huge, so no need for desert. Try the lafa bread salad or the salmon bagel, among my favourites. I'm not convinced by their brunch deals, though.

@dancelikenobodyiswatching: I agree. It seems that they've gotten too big for their britches so to speak. Still, it's a good formula for health crazed expats in search of wifi and juice. I hope they'll (and their prices) come back to down to earth soon. In the meantime, check out other Cafes and American on CW.

My first time I was here I absolutely fell in love with the place, it was late summer in 07 and we were on the Sunny roof terrace! Wonderful! The staff was attentive and the manager aswell. After a while the rain started pouring down and the staff was very quick to help everybody move in. Smooth! :)
But the last time I went there I was so dissapointed! The place was crowded! That's ok, that's expected but what's terrible was that the staff was so arrogant and not helpful at all! I don't mind waiting for a table if I like a place but I don't like being ignored no matter what restaurant! I went to Wagas instead and was served with their usual smile on their face!

Groggy mornings be damned, this delightfully sunny location combined with a hearty breakfast is enough to get us ready to face the day. I always usually opt for the more classic American-style breakfast but the Cowgirl (or Cowboy) and French toast options are also worth a try. Throw a smoothie in there and you're set.

My favorite places in Shanghai so far. I have only had the breakfast menu so I can't comment on lunch/dinner options but they food is great, service is usually good and they have plugs for your laptop here as well. Good place to come and do work, study, etc.

Loved it, great atmosphere, good service and good fresh food with a massive varity of salads and smoothies.

Word to the wise, they shut down their wifi during lunch to keep the traffic pouring through.
