This Wild West-themed club brings a 19th century frontier town aesthetic to the typical Chinese club, where young locals dance to hip-hop and R&B until morning. The mid-range drink list, though expansive, is uncreative, but the absurdist decor guarantees every gunslinger in the saloon has a blast.

You don’t have to put on your cowboy boots and strap on your spurs to get a taste of the Wild, Wild West. 1801 Bar, a two-story time warp into a 19th century frontier town in the CBD’s ultra-shwank Blue Castle service apartments, gets about as close to the “O.K. Corral” as one needs. With DJs constantly spinning hip-hop and R&B music for the young Asian crowds, 1801 seems to double as both a bar and a club, with enough room to push the tables to the sides and create a saloon dance floor. Even at its loudest, the diffused house lights and small candles on every table guarantee that even the center stools feel secluded. The drink list is expansive, albeit lacking beverages one couldn’t get at any other bar—a Tsingtao beer is YY35, mixed drinks such as a Cosmopolitan and Long Island Ice Tea go for YY40 and YY50 respectively, and the requisite bottle of Chivas starts at 600 RMB.
