SMS Guanxi for 15% discount off food (beverage exempt). A perfect replica of a British curry house, this jumping place gets the Guomao lunchtime crowd with its sizable and tasty Indian classics. With its gorgeous wooden carvings, excellent service and a very dedicated and friendly staff, this restaurant is a must for anyone who loves Indian cuisine. Lesser known is their creamy chicken lassuni curry, definitely worth the try.

I have always believed that food is a very important part of culture; since I love India’s colorful culture, I am definitely fascinated by it’s food. Whenever we consider Indian food we automatically think of curry. Every Indian dish can use more than 10 different spices. That’s why when you taste Indian food you can’t help but feel like you’ve entered charmed territory. You can’t stop thinking about it, not only trying to identify the taste but also how best to describe it. I think it’s exotic but maybe that’s too general. Let’s uncover the purdah about Indian food at Taj Pavilion.
I was lucky to have the chance to be welcomed by the manager of Taj Pavilion at the World Trade Center. It is really easy to recognize Mr. Jasmeet, as he is a Punjabi Sikh and wears a black turban. He walked towards me with a nice smile as I was seated at a table from which I could view the whole restaurant.
The restaurant’s interior is elegant and warm, as you can see in the picture.
Spices are changed every 3 months to maintain freshness. The primary spice base of Indian, Bangladeshi and Pakistani cuisine is garam masala meaning hot (or warm) spice, which may include any of the following spices, usually freshly ground for added pungency: cinnamon, cumin, cloves, nutmeg, cardamom, chilies, garlic, ginger, turmeric, coriander, bay leaves, star anise and fennel. Taj Pavilion’s food has the same recipes, no matter which branch of the restaurant you go to and so it consistently has the same taste.
I consider it one of the best Indian restaurants in Beijing.
The owner has many years of hotel management experience. This is supposed to be the first Indian restaurant in Beijing. It’s been rewarded by That’s Beijing as an editor’s pick restaurant.

The food is not so fresh and the flavor of some dishes is wierd, especially "rice in yogurt"! We felt a little uncomfortable after the meal.

Yes,it is a good place for creating nice food. My favourite food must be nice in looks, good in taste and satisfying in smell.
Since I involved myself in books, especially cooking books. My skills for cooking have been greatly improved and updated.
Now I can enjoy the special taste, learn new backgrounds for foods, and seek time to cook with my wife, more important we can communicate with each other on how to cook well.It is funny,no,but full of fun.
Garden Books,a bookshop locates at 44 Guanghua Raod,Chaoyang District, gives me so nice a collection of books concerning cooking and drink. From western styles including Italian,British,Asian,African... to Chinese style including local styles, such as Sichaun,Hunan,Beijing...
Very Practical.Really power-guided for chef working at different restaurants or hotels.
Garden Books is a paradise for cooking books.Pop in and have a look.

Last week we ate Tandoori Chicken, Chicken Vindaloo ,some vegetable curries with Nan bread and Rice. Food was okay . But when we saw the bill -off -expensive for beijing city. Would try some other indian restaurants soon . Then we had some tax 15 %. Because I have been here only few days and only this place collects the tax? for what?I asked the chinese waiter she said service tax? All the waiters were chinese and only the owner was indian guy . All other restaurants too have chinese waiters but they do not collect 15 % . Here no complaint of service but nothing exceptional for service tax

It is our favourite place to visit, very friendly staff and food is outstanding.
