In 2006, Chinese railway system spent USD 3.5 billion purchasing new trains, while the expense of reconstruction of old trains reached USD 0.7 billion. The total investment of these two items increased 41% from the same period of 2005. It can be estimated that USD 0.8 billion will be invested to the rebuild of old trains.

Railway construction developed in large scale in 2006, with the total investment over USD 14 billion, nearly as 2 times as the figure of 2005. Along with the reform of Chinese railway system, China will face new developing opportunity. According to the , issued by China Ministry of Railways, China will invest USD 16 billion annually from 2006 to 2010. By the year of 2020, railway track of China will reach 100 thousand kilometers, with a large demand of new trains. In addition, according to the plan of Ministry of railways, the existing 0.3 million trains will be upgraded in order to fulfill the demand of railway speeding-up during 2005 to 2007. The fast development of railway system brings a large market for relevant equipment manufacturer. In the coming 3 years, profit of railway equipment manufacturing will increase rapidly.
